Some 2,000 Microsoft Most Valuable Professionals are expected to descend upon Seattle for the vendor’s 2007 MVP Global Summit, wites Computerworld.
The MVP program began in 1993 with 38 Microsoft experts, and now there are 3,600-plus members, 60% of whom are located outside of North America. MVPs dispense free technical advice on all Microsoft products, including its consumer gear, with the membership as varied as the products they’re expert in. For example, the membership includes students, politicians and people who hold down such jobs as mechanic, tow-truck driver, roofer, and even cardiologist. They say they routinely provide highly critical feedback to the company’s developers.
