Looks as though the FCC is giving up the ghost on getting clearance for airline passengers to use their cell phones at will. Technical reasons were cited, but I’ve to believe that a genuine outpouring of opposition to the idea from the flying public played a role. Fine by me, too. Flying is already painful enough without being stuck next to a cell-phone chatterbox.
