The U.K.’s The Register is citing a story that Cisco and Microsoft are investigating the possibility of establishing server farms in Iceland powered by renewable energy. Citing the Icelandic daily Morgunbladid, the Reykjavik Energy Company is in talks with both U.S. vendors about running server farms based on geothermal and hydroeletric power.
