Business 2.0 Assistant Managing Editor Tom Woody in his blog Green Wombat, is writing that Cisco was conspicuous by its failure to respond to a survey by Sustainable Silicon Valley, a group of tech and other firms in the area, to outline respondents’ work to help employees reduce gas emissions and encouraging them to travel green.
Google, and others, subsidize their employees’ purchases of hybrid vehicles, while Palo Alto Research Center offers $100 towards a bicycle purchase and maintenance.
Cisco wasn’t the only big Silicon Valley employer that failed to respond. Other no-shows include eBay, HP, Oracle and Sun.
