Despite spending millions of dollars promoting Vista, including putting the operating system’s name up in lights along the Jin Mao tower in Shanghai, China, Microsoft sold a total of 244 copies of Vista in China in the two weeks after the launch, reports Newlaunches.com, attributing a Japanese news source.

How can Microsoft compete in the country where pirates hawk Vista for $1. Newlaunches has some close-up box shots of some “bargain” Vista disks, including one of “Windows Vista Ulimate 2007”.
