Cisco last week signed a lease on a five-building campus in Milpitas, Calif., to house its growing staffing numbers, reports the San Jose Mercury News.

The newspaper rwrites that Cisco has outgrown its current San Jose and Milpitas facilities that span 7 million square feet across 50-some buildings. Cisco spokeswoman Robyn Jenkins Blum tells the Mercury News that the expansion is partly due to the company’s growing headcount as a result of its acquisitions.

According to the story: “In January, Cisco reported that it employs almost 55,000 people worldwide, 15,000 of whom work in the valley. The total represents a net increase of 2,700 from the previous quarter.”
