Yesterday, as we informed you here, Microsoft released the first public beta of Longhorn Server, Beta 3. Over here at out test labs, known as UniMatrix Zero-1, we have been testing Longhorn Server since it was initially announced nearly three years ago, and we will be making our testing of Longhorn Server somewhat more public as we go along.

For our Server test, we will be using Longhorn Server as both a stand alone server, and also as a member server in our current Windows Server 2003 SBS R2 network. We will also bring you both a 64-bit and 32-bit view of the readiness of Longhorn server, especially from a driver availability point of view. In a subsequent post, I will detail the hardware we are tossing at Longhorn Server in order to help you form baselines based on our efforts.
