A public relations professional representing one of those makers of Web-use monitoring software wants me to write about his client’s enterprise-grade product in part for this reason:
“Contrary to popular belief, employees whom management considers the top employees are indeed many times the ones who waste the most time on their computers and online.”
Well, well, well …
I’d like to believe that Network World management considers me among its top employees (whether that’s true or a laughable fantasy). And there’s little if any doubt in my mind that I waste as much or more time on my computer and online than most if not all of my colleagues. I’m a blogger, for heaven’s sake; that’s practically the job description.
So explain to me again why I would want to write about this product?
