We get a lot of press releases from small-time tool vendors looking for a little ink on their latest utility. Usually, they go straight to the virtual garbage can, but one last week caught our eye. A company called Eltima has released Flash Decompiler 2.1, which they say can reverse engineer an SWF file into a FLA for editing in the Flash development environment. Developers can even edit components of a SWF file – say an image or backgound color – on the fly. Eltima is selling Flash Decompiler for $59.95. A demo version is available for download.
