More TiVo goodness

Two new developments on the TiVo front. First, the company will soon be adding the ability to transfer your own videos from a PC TO your TiVo. You’ll need the 7.2 software release for the Series 2 TiVo box and version 2.2 of the TiVo Desktop software, which is due out anytime, if pundits are reading the tea leaves correctly. TiVo should be able to show any MPEG2 formatted video. Great for those home video enthusiasts who want to easily share their work with visitors and family members. The other good news is a new plug-in for Orb Networks called TiVoAnywhere, which allows you to access shows recorded on your Tivo remotely. You can watch them over any Orb-compatible device. Combine this with the ability to store your own videos on the TiVo, and you can share your creations with the family and friends at their house.
