A while back I published a plug for Wainhouse Research’s quarterly Webmetrics survey that looks at Web conferencing trends. Now, the results are in. Looking through the executive summary, I found the answer to the question “Based on volume (minutes) of usage in your organization, who is the largest provider of web conferencing platforms or services in your organization today?” the most interesting:
I am surprised to see NetMeeting at the top of the heap, placing just ahead of what many consider the leader in Web conferencing, WebEx. Wainhouse notes this is not a true representation of market shared, but “it does demonstrate the diffusion of products and service providers in the overall marketplace and would suggest that – at least in the WebMetrics universe – there is no single dominant force.” The full summary can be found here.
