In a note to customers late last night, Santa Cruz Networks said it is shutting down its VidiTel desktop videoconferencing service at the end of the month. Paying customers will no be billed for January. The company is turning its attention to Festoon, a group voice and video tool that works with Skype and Google Talk, allowing users of both services to connect with one another. Festoon, currently in beta, is free.
