Remember in the movie Minority Report where Tom Cruise uses two hands to manipulate images on a display? Didn’t you immediately think “I want one too!”? Well, looks like multi-point touch displays aren’t far off … Check out Vic Divecha’s Official Tech Blog for notes and a direct link to a demo video of a prototype multi-point touch screen (in particular about halfway through — the map manipulation — wow!) as well as the Web site of the inventor, Jeff Han. According to Divecha’s article, “… the interesting part is that Apple has patented these interactions, which means … a TabletMac?” Oh yes please! The downside? You’ll have to wait a while longer for the Minority Report style floating-in-the-air display.
