Sharing the Buzzblog soapbox

One of the most important things I want to do with Buzzblog is share the soapbox it provides with my colleagues, my contacts — sources we call ’em in the news business — and readers just like you (presuming you’re not a crank).

Sharing not for the sake of sharing, mind you, but sharing because I’m convinced it’ll make for a better blog. I’m not a technologist. I’m a journalist who knows enough about technology to be dangerous. I also know a lot of people who know a lot about technology … and I’m going to browbeat them into sharing their insights right here on this stage.

Take Joel Snyder, for example. Joel may be a nut — and I say that with great respect and affection — but he’s a nut who is never at a loss for words when you ask for his opinion. And he’s forgotten more about technology than I could ever hope to know. Having Joel weigh in here on a topic of my choosing makes great sense. He’ll be first at bat in the next post.

And there will be others lending their expertise … hopefully, many others.
