If you revel in your Mac then you have to check out OSXplanet. This program creates a view of the earth or any of the other planets in our solar system as your OS X desktop. If you choose to view the earth you can select to see it by self or in various map projections. In all earth displays the sunlit parts of the earth, current cloud cover, selected cities, volcanoes, satellite positions, and sesmic events can be included as well and you can even center the display on a geographic location. An excellent piece of programming and yours for free although donations are encouraged. BTW, the author is 15 years old.
