Where to find the next Google

Stanford remains the university many would say is still the place to find the seeds of the next Google or Yahoo. Among those saying this is SiliconValley.com, which reports on a celebration at the school’s computer science department featuring “five billionaire or near-billionaire veterans” of the department, including Sun co-founder Andy Bechtolsheim and former Netscape exec Jim Clark.

Part of our goal with this Alpha Doggs blog is to track the goings-on at schools such as Stanford, but also to get a feel for which other schools deserve more attention for their advanced network research (let us know!).

Meanwhile, back to Stanford, we’ve been tracking a few recent activities, including its data privacy research with India’s Tata Consultancy Services.
