Microsoft Active Directory made its debut on Feb.17, 2000
endif; ?>Ten years ago this week, Microsoft debuted its first network directory with the official release of Windows 2000. Back then, Microsoft was late to the directory game — which had already been mastered by Novell, Banyan, Sun and others – but determined to make up for lost time. Today, Active Directory runs in more than 90% of the world’s 2,000 biggest companies, while the rest of the market picks up the leftovers.
