Man loses part of finger in iPad theft
Denver cops are looking for a suspect who stole an iPad from a man who’d just bought it, along with part of the victim’s left pinky.Doctors had to amputate about two-thirds of the finger, after the tip was stripped to the bone in the theft. Police released a photo of the suspect, obtained from a security video. Bill Jordan, 59, was carrying the just-purchased iPad in a bag, with the bag’s cord wrapped around his left hand. According to the AP account, the thief “completely blind-sided” Jordan, and jerked the bag off his hand. The violent motion stripped the flesh of one finger to the bone.”There was nothing but bone showing on the whole back of the pinky,” Jordan said. “The skin was just gone.”Jordan didn’t even buy the iPad for himself: he bought it for a friend in Canada, where the tablet is not yet on sale.
