HPE, Flex and Oracle grow Nvidia partnerships; Nvidia tops $5 trillion in market value.
Nvidia showcased a variety of advances at its GTC event (GPU Technology Conference) this week – everything from quantum computing inroads to a 6G wireless stack and improved partnerships with core vendors, including Cisco.
In addition, Nvidia became the first company to hit a market value of $5 trillion, or what the Wall Street Journal called “the latest milestone in an unprecedented surge that reflects the growing influence of artificial intelligence on markets and the economy.”
With that as a backdrop, here is some of the news that may have flown a little below the radar at the event.
HPE launches second-generation AI Factories
Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) announced an expansion of its Nvidia AI Computing by HPE portfolio, including a variety of hardware and service updates. The expanded offering includes turnkey AI factory solutions, unified data strategies, and updated server platforms featuring the latest Nvidia AI infrastructure and software.
Topping the list of new offerings is the second generation of HPE’s turnkey Private Cloud AI service co-developed with Nvidia. HPE claims its new Private Cloud AI for the HPE Gen12 ProLiant DL 280a offers three times better performance than the first-generation offering.
It is also upgradeable, allowing customers to start small with their deployment and expand over time. The new Private Cloud AI can also be integrated into an air-gapped secure private cloud, which are often required by governments, sovereign entities, and regulated industries.
HPE Services, meanwhile, is providing a new offering that leverages Nvidia NeMo frameworks to create what HPE calls “digital avatar assistants” designed to deliver AI-based customer transactions for applications for smart cities, retail, manufacturing, health care, banking, finance and education.
There are several new hardware products available from HPE:
- HPE ProLiant Compute XD685 now supports eight Nvidia Blackwell Ultra (B300 GPUs) in a 5U, direct-liquid cooled HGX chassis. The XD685 is optimized for AI service providers and neoclouds, as well as ambitious enterprises and model builders that need to stand up large, secure, and validated AI clusters.
- Nvidia GB300 NVL72 by HPE, optimized for AI models of more than 1 trillion parameters, is now available to order and expected to ship December 2025.
- HPE ProLiant Compute DL380 Gen12 Server Premier Solution for Azure Local, designed to offer Azure services on a customer’s network as well as AI services.
- Future models of HPE servers will offer support for Nvidia ConnectX-9 SuperNIC and the Nvidia BlueField-4 DPU, announced yesterday.
HPE cited a 2025 Architecting an AI Advantage report that found nearly 60% of organizations have fragmented AI goals and strategies, and a similar proportion lacking comprehensive data management for AI.
The two firms are collaborating to address these challenges by providing a suite of solutions for AI factories, supporting a range of users from developers to sovereign AI cloud builders. The goal is to enable organizations to develop a holistic AI infrastructure strategy.
Flex and Nvidia collaborate on giga-scale AI Factories
Nvidia struck a deal with manufacturing developer Flex to develop modular data center systems designed to meet the surging demand for AI infrastructure across the United States. The collaboration is built on Flex’s advanced manufacturing capabilities and global footprint to deliver high-performance, energy-efficient AI factories at scale.
Flex is using Nvidia’s cuOpt for capacity planning, route simulations, and process optimization. cuOpt is a GPU-accelerated optimization engine developed by Nvidia for solving large decision-optimization problems such as route planning and scheduling for vehicle fleets.
In the case of Flex, it will use digital twins to unify inventory, labor, and freight operations, streamlining logistics across Flex’s worldwide network. Flex’s new 400,000 sq. ft. facility in Dallas is purpose-built for data center infrastructure, aiming to significantly shorten lead times for U.S. customers.
The Flex/Nvidia partnership aims to address the country’s labor shortages and drive innovation in manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, and technology. The companies believe the partnership sets the stage for a new era of giga-scale AI factories.
Nvidia and Oracle to build DOE’s largest AI supercomputer
Oracle continues its aggressive push into supercomputing with a deal to build the largest AI supercomputer for scientific discovery — Using Nvidia GPUs, obviously — at a Department of Energy facility.
The system, dubbed Solstice, will feature an incredible 100,000 Nvidia Blackwell GPUs. A second system, dubbed Equinox, will include 10,000 Blackwell GPUs and is expected to be available in the first half of 2026. Both systems will be interconnected by Nvidia networking and deliver a combined 2,200 exaflops of AI performance.
The Solstice and Equinox supercomputers will be located at Argonne National Laboratory, the home to the Aurora supercomputer, built using all Intel parts. They will enable scientists and researchers to develop and train new frontier models and AI reasoning models for open science using the Nvidia Megatron-Core library and scale them using the Nvidia TensorRT inference software stack.
