Kicking off the Imagine Cup in Poland

At 6:00pm Saturday, July 3rd 2010 Poland local time, the Microsoft Imagine Cup 2010 competition officially kicked off.  The ribbon cutting ceremony performed by the Prime Minister of Poland, Microsoft’s Country GM of Poland, and Microsoft’s GM of Education from Redmond officially opened the competition!

A parade of the competitors showing their country pride with the flags of their nation rallied throughout the Opening Ceremonies!

Over the next 2 days, over 400 college student finalist teams representing their country will compete to be crowned best of the best in Software Design, Embedded Systems, Digital Media, Information Technology, and Game Design.

The final round of competition starts tomorrow morning (July 4th) with an 8am general briefing, 8:30am competition briefing, and then official competition start!

I’ll blog key events throughout the competition this coming week…
