Incents channel partners to sell Cisco Developer Network applications

Cisco says it is launching a new program that brings together its application developers and channel partners. Cisco is offering its highest discounts to resellers who sell pre-qualified applications from members of its Cisco Developer Network (CDN).

Cisco says the integration of its developer and reseller communities is a “strategic shift” for the company. The effort enables channel partners to identify pre-qualified applications created by CDN members that make it easier to address their customers’ business requirements. At the same time, it provides developers with greater access to Cisco technologies and resources to support their development and business cycles.

And to sweeten the pot, channel partners who collaborate with qualified CDN members with pre-qualified applications and who register their business solutions with Cisco are eligible for Solution Incentive Program discounts, Cisco’s highest partner incentive.

Seems like a no brainer: bring together the people that develop the application for a platform with those that sell it. Like combining the chocolate and peanut butter in a Reese’s peanut butter cup. And this is new?
