Did Cisco's IP Telephony Group Jump the Announcement?
In my blog last week I announced the official release of IOS 15.0. Someone added this comment to my blog: That made me wonder if any information was available on the vast Cisco.com yet about the new ISRs. So, I did some searching (not logged in with my CCO account, this is all done as an annonymous web surfer). I first tried regular Google, but those results were poor. So, I went right to Cisco.com and typed in “ISR 3900“. That made for some interesting results. Check out the 3rd item listed: There are more public pages in there too, mostly around telephpony (gateways, FXO/FSO, etc). For example, Table 4-1 (What’s New in This Chapter) lists the 2900 and 3900 ISRs are gateway options for Cisco Unified Communications Manager 7.x: Some more examples:
- Cisco Unified Communication Manager Express in SRST Mode
- Supported Analog H.323 and SIP Features
- Supported Analog MGCP Features
- Supported Digital H.323 and SIP Features for BRI, T1 CAS, T1 FGB, T1 FGD, and T1 QSIG
- and so on…..
However, I can’t find any links that actually describe the new ISRs themselves. At this point, we just know they are coming (I would guess soon). So, if Cisco was hoping to make a surpise marketing splash, they might want to have a chat with the IP Telephony business unit.
