If you’re an Apple fanboy, there’s a good chance you believe that Apple is poised to change the landscape of technology once again when, in two weeks, Apple CEO Steve Jobs will reportedly introduce an Apple tablet device to the world.
While information regarding the device’s screen size and expected launch date have seemingly leaked out, actual facts about what the device will be capable of have either been non-existent or have come from questionable sources.
But one source for Apple news and rumors that has proven to be quite reliable over the years is John Gruber from the famed Apple site Daring Fireball. In a post published yesterday, Gruber divulged an interesting tidbit about the rumored Apple tablet and one of its features, or lack thereof. It turns out, if Gruber’s sources are proven to be accurate (and they often are), that the tablet or slate device Apple has cooking in the kitchen will not come equipped with a built-in video camera.
And, for what it’s worth, I’m hearing there is no camera, webcam or otherwise, on The Tablet.
So I guess you can put away any hopes you had of the tablet being able to broadcast video in real time to other users.
