Introduction and Best Practices for IT Managers and Implementers

I wanted to reintroduce myself to both the audience at Networkworld.com and the IT Manager Community Hub on TechNet. My name is Ross Mistry; I am a consultant, author and SQL Server MVP specializing in designing and implementing solutions with Microsoft technologies. Typically I have been requested to blog on networkworld.com when I release a new book. Although, my latest title (SQL Server 2008 Management and Administration) will be shipping in the next few days, I plan on sticking around and blogging for a bit longer.

The purpose of my new blog is to share best practices gained from designing and implementing Active Directory, Exchange, SQL Server, System Center and Virtualization solutions for Fortune organizations with a global presence. By visiting and contributing to my blog, IT Managers and Decision Makers can gain insight on how other organizations are tackling projects similar in nature. In addition, my blog aims to help IT managers plan, influence and grow in their career – so feel free to interact and ask questions.
