Lloyd takes over operations as Justice battles cancer

Rob Lloyd has been named to head Cisco’s worldwide sales operations, taking over for Rick Justice as he battles prostate cancer.

Justice, 59, led Worldwide Operations for 12 years. On April 26, he will become a part-time executive advisor to CEO John Chambers as he continues his 5-year struggle with his health.

In the 12 Justice years, Cisco’s revenue grew from $7.5 billion to $36 billion.

Lloyd, 52, previous ran Cisco’s two largest sales geographies: currently, he is senior vice president of Cisco’s U.S., Canada and Japan operations; and he previously oversaw the Europe/Middle East/Africa theatre. Under Lloyd, revenue in U.S. and Canada grew from $12.5 billion to $22 billion within three years.

The EMEA business grew from 28% to 32% of Cisco’s worldwide revenues under Lloyd as well.

Lloyd will be responsible for Cisco’s worldwide sales, channels, strategic alliances, and the company’s Internet Business Solutions Group. Corporate Development, previously under Justice, will now report to Chambers and continue to be led by Senior Vice President Ned Hooper.
