In the fall, Microsoft worked with defense contractor Northrop Grumman to build a proof-of-concept military application based on the Microsoft Surface table PC. A video of the application was posted today on Channel 9 by the Microsoft team that built the app, according to the Public Sector Developer Weblog. It demonstrates how Microsoft Surface could be used for mission planning, rehearsal and review of missions by military command and control decision folks. Funny, the Surface was initially billed as a family entertainment device (albeit an expensive one). From family entertainment to planning an attack on enemy targets, this computerized, touch screen table seems to do it all.
Actors on the television show CSI Miami use similar devices, don’t you think?
