Heard it at the airport

I’ve spoken previously about the adoption of Windows Vista. Its not one of my favorite operating systems; but I’ve been impressed with Windows 7 – with beta code that outperforms Vista released code! I guess I’ll have to get used to that new UI yet!

However, a friend of mine had a rather interesting experience earlier this week. He doesn’t work for Microsoft, but he happens to have a logo’d Vista jacket.

He was trying making a connecting flight and wanted to find out what gate he needed to go to for his next flight. He didn’t see the flight posted on the overhead monitor, but he noticed several airline employees and decided to ask them.

They looked at him and his jacket – which was black with the Windows Vista emblem on it (he does NOT work for Microsoft).

They pointed to the logo and refused to answer his question, until he told them he did not work for Microsoft. … then they gave him the gate information.

Sounds like there is some serious discontent with Vista. I can only hope that Windows 7 continues to look as good as it does so far.
