Where is Microsoft’s booth at VoiceCon?

So, as I walked into the Exhibit Hall today, I noticed a gaping hole where only a black square of carpet full of chairs. So where was Microsoft’s exhibition when Cisco and Avaya’s booths look like a shopping mall? Although the comments I received around this subject were mixed, it’s my impression that Microsoft understands it’s place in the voice marketplace. Microsoft is the leader, there is no reason to setup yet another booth to show how to transfer a call or put a call on hold as with the thousands of other vendors on site. Instead, Microsoft rented out a plethora of meeting rooms to hold private demos and presentations. The money spent on the booth went into bringing in their top voice program management teams, technical and sales specialists, and consulting services groups to pay specific attention to their customers and partners. While it was a bold move to not have a booth, I believe everyone was thankful that the chairs were there, they were comfy, and after standing at booths and walking the massive hall for hours on end, it’s nice to kick back and have a rest, on behalf of Microsoft!
