At long last, Microsoft has set the date when Windows 7 will be available: Oct. 22. The new OS will be sent to manufacturers in late July and on Oct. 22 folks will be able to buy new computers with Windows 7 installed – or upgrade to W7 on a computer they already own, reports Reuters.
Microsoft will offer more details on upgrade options when Steve Guggenheimer delivers his keynote at Computex in Taipei tomorrow (10:30p PT), reports Mary Jo Foley.
