Facility to have 3,000 HD monitors with customized, event-specific content

Jerry Jones doesn’t want Texans watching the Cowboys from the comfort of their living rooms. He wants to offer an experience that will pry you from your couches and make you want to pay for a ticket to attend the game live.

And he’s enlisting Cisco’s help in this endeavor. The Dallas Cowboys are the latest sports franchise to have Cisco install an immersive and interactive video experience for fans attending an event at the Cowboys new $1.1 billion stadium.

The stadium will have 3,000 HD TV displays in the concourse, club or concessions areas featuring customized game footage and real-time information. The Cowboys can customize displays with pre-event, event and post-event content, such as out-of-town games and scores, team trivia, weather, traffic and news, in addition to the actual game or event.

The technology will also help the Cowboys create new revenue streams by enticing more people to attend more events at the venue via the interactive video experience, and through signage campaigns targeted at the event demographic.

“We want fans to have experiences you cannot come close to having at home” on an HD TV, Cowboy owner Jones said.

The Yankees and Toronto Blue Jays of Major League Baseball have also installed Cisco’s StadiumVision.
