Sold bogus gear to federal agencies
Two brothers have pled guilty in Texas of selling counterfeit Cisco gear to several federal agencies. Michael Edman, 38, and Robert Edman, 29, pleaded guilty Tuesday in Houston to one count each of trafficking in counterfeit goods, according to this story in the Texarkana Gazette.
Robert Edman ran a company called Syren Technology that listed as its customers the US Marines and Air Force, the FBI, and the FAA. Who in their right mind would sell counterfeit anything to the FBI?
The two were indicted early last year. They face 10 years and $2 million in fines at their sentencing next year.
The Edman brothers join a growing list of crooks ripping off Cisco and its customers.
