Fox News skewers Google for not commemorating 9/11 with a doodle.
Fox News took note that Google on Friday did nothing special on its home page to note the eighth anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks against the United States.
Bing and Ask.com had pictures of the place where the World Trade Center used to be. But Google had nothing special going on.
Fox keyed in on the fact that Google has had special illustrations for more obscure dates, like Andy Warhol’s birthday. And the company only marked Veterans Day “under pressure.”
Meanwhile, speaking of 9/11, Google search results were reportedly being manipulated (via SEO) to direct users interested in 9/11 search terms to malware.
