Blog post says Chrapaty leaving software giant to replace Cisco's Dennerline
Did Cisco land a top level Microsoft executive to replace Doug Dennerline as head of its collaboration software group? This is so, according to this blog post from the Wall Street Journal.
Debra Chrapaty will leave her post as Microsoft corporate vice president, Global Foundation Services, to head Cisco’s Collaboration Software Group, owners of the WebEx platform. At Microsoft, Chrapaty was spearheading the software giant’s Microsoft Live, cloud computing and online services initiatives.
At Cisco, she’ll likely be heading up the company’s cloud computing and software-as-a-service strategies. Those used to be under the watch of Dennerline, who left Cisco less than a month ago to head Americas sales at Salesforce.com.
This could be a coup for Cisco. Chrapaty could provide some valuable insights into the Microsoft cloud and online services strategy for Cisco to exploit.
