the day dell refused to sell a computer

THIS from The Ubuntu Forums; a story of a business customer who could not buy a Dell with Ubuntu. They were told these were for personal use, not business use. Weird… Recall a post some weeks back, where Dell refused to sell an extended warranty on an Ubuntu box? Once the faux pax had enough light upon it someone in Dell stepped up and claimed it was a “configurator error” and that it would be reversed. The last paragraph from my previous post:

When Dell offered Ubuntu on selected products it was seen as a huge marketing move since it represents only 1% of their total sales (my estimate). Still, by not offering extended warranties on these products they have turned around and shot themselves in the foot. Let’s see if they reload and shoot again.
