According to rumors on the net, Apple will announce that it has licensed the Exchange ActiveSync licensing protocol. You can actually use IMAP to connect to an Exchange Server, the advantage of the Active Sync is that it is a push technology and includes calendar sync. I do not agree that this will happen for two reasons: 1) Microsoft Exchange has 32% of the Corporate email market and less than 5% of ALL email boxes, the vast majority is POP and IMAP based solutions like sendmail, fetchmail etc. 2) This phone is a consumer smartphone, not a corporate smartphone. Knowing Steve Jobs, he is convinced that there is a huge market for personal smartphones independent of corporate systems. And consumer don’t give a fig about Exchange, Domino, etc.
