Check out this funny blog by Rick Segal (his blog is Doing the Voodo VCs do in Canada). One day (or, more accurately, many days) his Blackberry froze. He dutifully reported the error message and Microsoft sent him a surprising reply. The reply said that the problem had been identified as faulty Blackberry software but that Microsoft has been “unable to contact the manufacturer” to get the problem resolved.
All of it is recorded in his blog, complete with graphics, and humor:
“Given that I know I’ve sent in the error message a bunch of times and I know of others who have had the same issue, I can only imagine that Microsoft has RIM on speed dial, left a bunch of messages, and is patiently waiting for a call back.
Jim, come on, throw the Redmond folks a bone. They have some cash and (I verified this) will accept a collect call.”
