Cisco is aiming to give European citizens control over their healthcare with a number of initiatives in that region.
Among the initiatives, as reported in a story in ehealtheurope.com, include:
* Working with BT in the United Kingdom to implement VoIP across the National Health Service’s N3 data network, NHS Direct 24-hour health care information service and NHS 24, its equivalent for Scottish citizens.
* Providing broadband services to citizens of the Netherlands.
* Implemented new networks at the Bethseda Children’s Hospital in Budapest, Hungary.
* A HealthPresence pilot with Scottish health boards that will enable patients to seek medical advice from self-service booth placed in public places, such as shopping malls, hotels and post offices.
