Is Palm Going Private?

Palm is having Wall St heartache as it announced another downgrading of it’s forecast. Palm definitely has it challenges at the moment, it is facing much stronger competition from RIM, Windows and now Apple it is looking decidely old school. Knowing Elevation Partners (modus that is), (prediction) they have been working on a privatization scheme for Palm with some equity partners but are having problems raising the cash needed to do this. My prediction, look for Palm to go private next year after the sub prime mess blows over and the parties can raise the money to do this. However it is getting cheaper by the day….
