Continuing his tour of the Middle East, Cisco CEO John Chambers met with Qatar officials to discuss Project iQ, an initiative “aimed at building a collaborative platform comprising business and collaboration applications, including blogs, wikis, TelePresence, social networking and unified messaging,” according to a report in Al Bawaba. Cisco plans to invest $40 million over three years into the Qatar Science & Technology Park, the state’s planned research and technology. Cisco wil also provide technical training to local universities, partners and customers as well as offer internship opportunities, the report adds.
