Web is perfect place for controvesial footage

This morning, NBC’s Today Show had a segment on the controversy over the unedited video of Saddam hanging being posted on the Internet. (You knew it would be.) To my knowledge, none of the major U.S. networks have ever shown the entire clip and now some seem upset that it is available online. Why I ask? Online is the perfect place for it for those that WANT to see it. If it’s not for you, don’t watch. It’s not like the news where one is not in control of what stories are presented. With Web, one has far more flexibility in reading/watching stories of interests. I haven’t watched it and am not sure if I want to. But if I did, the Web and the various online video sites are the perfect narrowcast medium for such controversial footage.
