Microsoft’s paperclip helper gets $930 million makeover

Looks like Mr. Clippy – or whatever the paperclip is called in MS Office – is coming into some big money. AeroXperience is blogging that Microsoft is pumping 20% more R&D dollars into Office 14 – the next release of Office – than for Office 2007, bringing the total annual Office 14 R&D budget to $930 million. Oh, and MS is skipping a number in its Office codename. Office 12 became Office 2007 and Office 14 is the new one Microsoft is working on. MS decided against working on a No. 13.
