RealNetworks latest quarterly results (showing a profit!) clearly illustrates that the company is moving away from competing with Microsoft and Apple for streaming format supremcy and more toward proving consumer services like music downloads and subscription. For the recent quarter, Real reported $82.2 million in revenue and $71.8 million (87.3%) came from “Consumer Products and Services”. What’s your bet on when we’ll completely stop talking about Real has a codec and platform maker?
