I was trying to use QuickTime to watch a test MPEG-4 video I created and it crashed. I got the usual “Do you want to report this error to Microsoft” dialog, so I clicked the equivalent of “yes”. Usually when I do this, nothing really happens. This time though I got redirected to a Microsoft “Online Crash Analysis” page that says:
Problem description The error was likely caused by QuickTime Player. This software was created by Apple Computer, Inc.. Recommendation Microsoft has researched this problem with Apple Computer, Inc., and they do not currently have a specific solution for the problem that you reported. For help on QuickTime Player, visit the following Apple Computer, Inc. support site.
No, couldn’t be Microsoft’s fault! I am suprised it didn’t add, “Why not use a more superior player and format such as those offered by Microsoft and its Windows Media division??”
