Iceotope on Tuesday announced its new liquid-cooled server technology. Rather than using chilled air as a cooling source for the data center, liquid-immersion pumps recirculated water around the servers and exchanges heat outside the data center. The warm water does not require chilling. This process can reduce data center cooling costs by 93%, according to the company. Iceotope is demonstrating the system at Supercomputing 2009, in Portland November 17-19 in booth 2355.
