ATEN Technology on Monday announced CAT5 KVM switches targeted for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in both 24- and 40-port models. The switches are in a 1U (1.75-inch) high configuration and allow one local and up to four remote operators to monitor and access an entire data center via Internet Protocol (IP). Via cascading, up to 640 servers can be monitored (40-port model). Support of audio is critical for media production users. Pre-installed on the switches, the Control Center over the NET (CC2000) management software allows remote monitoring and control over installed devices through a secure Web portal.
