HP announced on Tuesday that it has partnered with Microsoft, Novell and Red Hat to provide customers with service offerings, incentives and training programs that streamline the migration from Sun to HP-based servers. HP intends to improve the rate of migration from Sun, currently at about one customer per day, with discounted training services on SUSE Linux and Red Hat. Customers can choose the best OS for HP ProLiant, HP BladeSystem and HP Integrity server platforms including HP’s UNIX operating system HP-UX 11i, Microsoft Windows Server, Novell’s SUSE Linux Enterprise Server, Red Hat Enterprise Linux and even Sun Solaris.
