Sans Digital on Wednesday rolled out a new 3U 16-bay JBOD storage system. The rack-mount AS316X2 is a SAS to SAS/SATA array that is compatible with a variety of RAID controllers. It features 120MBps bandwidth and 700MBps with RAID controllers when using Serial ATA drives. The AS316X2 could be expanded by connecting up to four enclosures in a daisy-chain format, for a total of 64 hard drives.
