Continuity Software last week launched a new version of its disaster recovery and high availability software.

The company’s RecoverGuard has been enhanced to support clustering and add root cause analysis, gap detection and reporting.
RecoverGuard identities the gaps between configuration changes at the primary site and configurations at the disaster recovery site. When changes to storage, servers, databases are made at the primary site, they’re often not made at the secondary site. Since companies can’t turn on disaster recovery to check if changes were implemented correctly, drift or gaps in changes commonly occur. RecoverGuard identifies disaster recovery and high availability vulnerabilities before data is lost. The software recognizes over 2,800 gap signatures.
New to RecoverGuard is an Availability Advisor, which detects configuration drift, including domain, DNS settings, OS version, hardware, storage routing and single points of failure. The new root cause analysis feature can identify which changes led to the problem.
The company has also added deployment analysis to the software – this feature identifies and reports on IT assets that do not have any level of protection.
Continuity Software counts among the companies that use its software Cricket, Orange and the Bank of Israel.
The software supports EMC, NetApp and Hitachi Data Systems replication.
RecoverGuard v4.0 is now available. Annual license pricing is based on the number of protected servers in the customer’s environment.
