* Tek-Tools’ Profiler for HP Tru64 manages servers Tek-Tools unveiled software last week that lets HP Tru64 operating system users monitor and manage the files on their HP file servers with direct-attached disks.Profiler for HP Tru64 is a Web-based management tool that gives users real-time and historical information. The software allows administrators to analyze files, report on trends and plan capacity. It monitors servers in real-time.The software lets users create usage groups based on volumes or file systems and allows for charge-backs based on utilization.Profiler offers reporting by file type. For instance, it can identify MP3 files or files that are less frequently accessed and recommend them for deletion or movement to less expensive storage. Migrating files in this fashion frees up disk space and reduces the amount of time it takes to back up a server. Profiler includes reports for hosts, volumes and users that can be run automatically. User-customized reports are also available. It allows historical trending and forecasting across servers to eliminate downtime due to exceeded capacity.Tek-Tools also offers Profilers for Windows NT, 2000, 2003 and XP; Solaris; NetWare; Linux; AIX; HP-UX; and SCO, as well as a variety of storage systems such as EMC’s Celerra and Network Appliance’s file servers. Profiler for Tru64 is available now starting at $5,000.
