Impossible?

No longer!

Robert McLaws of Windows-Now.com has succeeded in installing Windows Server 2008 x64 (beta).

When I asked if it was an upgrade or migration, Rob was firm in stating:

“Unfortunately, it’s not really a true migration or upgrade. Myself and a couple colleagues came up with a way to get a running server on x64 with almost no physical access. Unfortunately, the result is a completely clean installation. Settings will not be maintained at all. But it gets the box running x64, which was the goal of the project.”

Watch this space for more information on the steps he took in achieving this.
